The Otology-1 Unit at the National Institute of ENT & Hospital is a specialized department dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of ear-related conditions. Scope of Services
🔹 Comprehensive Diagnosis & Treatment
- Evaluation and management of hearing loss (temporary and permanent)
- Diagnosis and treatment of tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
- Ear infections (acute and chronic otitis media, otitis externa)
- Vestibular disorders causing dizziness and balance problems
- Eustachian tube dysfunction and related ear pressure issues
🔹 Surgical Interventions
- Tympanoplasty – Surgical repair of the eardrum to restore hearing
- Mastoidectomy – Removal of infected mastoid bone in severe infections
- Cochlear Implants – Surgical implantation for patients with severe to profound hearing loss
- Stapedectomy – Surgery to improve hearing in otosclerosis patients
- BAHA (Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid) Implantation – For patients with conductive hearing loss
- Excision of Ear Tumors & Other Growths – Removal of benign and malignant ear lesions
